  2. NSF Institute for Foundations of Machine Learning (NSF IFML): At the University of Texas at Austin, this institute advances foundational AI models and tools, such as Stable Diffusion 3.   3. NSF Institute for Student AI-Teaming (NSF iSAT): Located at the University of Colorado Boulder, NSF iSAT enhances STEM education by embedding AI-driven collaboration tools and curricula, reaching thousands of students and educators, and expanding AI literacy nationwide.

  4. NSF Molecule Maker Lab Institute (NSF MMLI): Led by the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, NSF MMLI accelerates the discovery of molecules for medicine, clean energy, and advanced materials using next-generation AI agents and language models.

  5. NSF AI Institutes Virtual Organization (NSF AIVO): UC Davis operates this hub to connect institutes, federal agencies, and the public, encouraging collaboration and broadening the impact of AI research.

  6. NSF AI Research Institute on Interaction for AI Assistants (NSF ARIA): Brown University leads this effort to create adaptive, safer AI assistants that better serve individual users and enhance human-AI interaction.
